We are excited to announce AC Dental has re-opened. The government and different governing bodies has provided different revised guidelines that allow us to re-open the clinic safely.  We ask that you please be patient with us as we go through this process. Dentistry, as a profession, already works within some of the strictest infection control standards. Our #1 priority is the safety and health of our patients and staff.

Here are some of the steps.

Scheduling appointments:
  • Patients will be seen by appointment only.
  • We will not be taking walk-in appointment at this time.
  • The time of your scheduled appointment will be reserved exclusively for you.
  • If you need to cancel or rescheduled your appointment, we kindly ask that you let us know 48 hours in advance so that we can accommodate other patients.
  • Enhanced pre-screening of patients at the time of booking the appointment, according to Covid-19 guidelines.
  • We will ask you a series of questions when booking you appointment.
  • We will ask you again and signed the form on the day of appointment.
  • If you answer yes to any of the questions, or suddenly developed the symptoms, please reschedule the appointment.

Prior to your appointment
  • Brush you teeth
  • Do not drink anything at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment.
  • Our washrooms will be available only under the strictest of necessity.

When you arrive:
  • Please call our office at 416-335-3350 or 416-290-9090. 
  • We have enhanced check-in process that requires you to wear a​ mask, sanitize your hands, have your temperature checked and do a disinfectant rinse with 1-1.5% hydrogen peroxide solution.
  • Many different signs, social distancing signs and markers have been placed and we ask that you keep a 6-ft distance from the front desk and staff members, when not in treatment.
  • Our team’s temperature will be taken twice a day for added re-assurance.

Waiting area:
  • We have installed plexiglass at reception desk.
  • Magazines and toys will be unavailable.
  • Please come alone to your appointment. In situations where you are attending with children, we have very limited seating available.

Washrooms:
  • We ask that you visit the washroom prior to attending our office.
  • The washroom will only be made available in absolute necessary situations.

Treatment Rooms:
  • All our treatment rooms are now closed with doors.
  • Our treatment rooms are now equipped with HEPA Filtration systems that remove 99.97% of allergens and airborne particles.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
  • Depending on their role, PPE is worn by our staffs accordingly to prevent potential exposure.
  • This may include N95 respirators, gloves, mask, goggles, face shield and surgical gowns.
  • Clinical staffs enter room with aerosol generating procedures will wear N95 respirators depending on their roles and procedures.
  • All staffs have passed the N95 fit tested and certified.

Sterilization and Disinfection:
  • As always, our office follow the protocols provided by infection Prevention and Control Canada (IPAC) for the sterilization and disinfection of equipment and surfaces.
  • Environmental cleaning in clinic is now double.
  • Schedule for maintain surgical rooms and common areas continue to be implemented.

Processing claims and payment:
  • If there are changes to your insurance policy, we will require this via email prior to your appointment.
  • The office has been equipped with payment terminals to facilitate payment from a distance.
  • This terminal will be presented to you and will be surface disinfected after each use.

Exiting the office:
  • Prior to leaving, you will be asked to wear your mask and sanitize your hands.
  • We ask that you maintain a 6-ft distance from others until you exit the clinic.

Other improvements
  • Extra-oral suction devices, UVC have been purchased.
